Tools & Parts You’ll Need:


  • Appropriate sockets/wrenches for your vehicle model.
  • Gasket/sealing kit for the oil pump cover.
  • New oil pump compatible with the 1.5 TDCI engine.
  • Fresh engine oil & filter (you’ll want to replace these anyway).
  • Clean workspace and good lighting.





Step-by-Step Guide Summary:


  1. Disconnect the battery and relieve any pressure in the oil system.
  2. Remove any covers, belts or components blocking access to the oil pump.
  3. Drain the engine oil and remove the pump-cover bolts carefully.
  4. Inspect the old pump and surrounding cavity for wear, debris or damage.
  5. Clean all mating surfaces, fit the new gasket/seal and install the new oil pump.
  6. Torque bolts to manufacturer specification, re-assemble any removed components.
  7. Refill engine oil & filter, reconnect the battery, start the engine and check for correct oil pressure.
  8. Monitor oil level and pressure over the next few drives to ensure everything is stable.
