Fault code p006a map and maf correlation

This is the first post to this blog. I will be adding many more tips from future experiences. We have all been there engine light comes on, we put a diagnostic machine on and it says map sensor or maf sensor for example. We get on the phone and spend hundreds to find out the problem is still there. We need to go back to basics. Although we think it’s an electrical fault believe it or not the electrical systems should be your last call of concern. By reading the fault this code is linked with correlation between the sensors. Meaning there is a out of range reading between them. Logically you must think this is air related. So strip all engine covers of and check all intercooler pipes, vacuum air pipes. I’m my case I found a split intercooler pipe. Replaced it cleared fault codes then road test. Problem solved. If there was still a fault I would then start checking the electrical system wiring for corrosion or chafing and then finally I would test the electrical components. The
